Festival '18 ★ Hello Brandon, I am dropping this email to thank you for the wonderful time I had at the 2018 MAMTG Festival as I did not have a chance to do it in person before leaving today. I stayed until almost 4pm at the awards ceremony (what an beautiful event, first time I attended it!), and was sorry I had to leave before it finished. The MAMTG Festival is something special, and you do an extraordinary job to make it a top musical event of our area. Thank you, Alessandra

Strings Rules for Festival

Students should arrive early to allow for time to warm up and tune their instrument. Students should make sure their instrument is functional and working properly - bows tightened with rosin, strings cleaned and tuned, shoulder rest fitted appropriately. Students should have all needed accessories such as tuner, bow, rosin, shoulder rest, cello stop and extra strings. If any student requires an accompanist, it's the student's or teacher's responsibility to provide an accompanist. Students performing with an audio accompaniment need to provide their own equipment, such as an mp3 player, tablet, cable(s), cd player/amp/speaker, etc...

Strings Open Solo
Students are to perform one song/piece - of their choice - on their designated string instrument - violin, viola, cello, upright bass. Student may stand or sit for their performance. Cellists are to sit. Performance music/song should be performed from memory. If the student is unable to memorize the performance piece, using sheet music is allowed, although will result in a deduction from the overall score. Adjudicator should be presented and provided with a clean copy of the sheet music or book, with no markings of any kind. Illegible photocopies are not permitted.
