“ My participation in Music Notes Academy's Rock Bands playing guitar and vocals really boosted my confidence as a student musician. I got a chance to perform in two rock bands at Music Notes Academy. We performed live at MAMTG's Battle of the Bands in 2010. I never performed with other rock bands competitively before or in front of that many people. After MAMTG, our band also went to the Barbershop Studios where we recorded a demo with their music producer and engineers. I didn’t realize how hard it was to sing scratch vocals for 3 hours until that fateful day. What a great experience it was for all of us, to be able to have that opportunity with Music Notes Academy.”
What you’ve been doing since Music Notes Academy ---
"Since learning at Music Notes Academy, I continued practicing my instrument and ended up playing in various guitar ensembles throughout high school and college. I began producing music using Logic Pro. Eventually I decided I needed a better understanding of audio engineering and enrolled at SAE Institute of Technology in NYC."
What you’re doing now ---
"Since graduating from SAE in August, I’ve been doing a lot of freelance music production, recording and mixing for local artists and bands. Recently, I joined the FOH engineering team for MAMTG's upcoming Music Festival. I’m really excited to come back to the Festival after all these years. I look forward to being on the other side, helping ensure students have a great experience like I did when I was a performer."
What you’re looking to do in the future ---
"I’d like to work with a Grammy-winning production. I’d like to work with a high-profile touring band and operate the backline and monitor mixes. I’ve also considered becoming an audio technician and working with Neve consoles."
